Our Story

Founded in 1997, Norman Yates Distillery is located in Somersby, nestled in the heart of the Central Coast. From humble beginnings, our company has evolved into a local pioneer in the spirits industry. Our unwavering commitment to excellence and our passion to support likeminded creatives is reflected in every bottle we produce and pack.

The Norman Yates Legacy
Our founder, Gavin Yates, named this distillery after his dad, Norman. He believed in the noble craftsmanship of production and in 1993 built the original factory in the spirit of entrepreneurship. His contagious enthusiasm passed his craftsmanship and passion for manufacturing along to his son Gavin who has sinced expanded and evolved this Central Coast Distillery to rival the best in the country,
Norman’s commitment to excellence and family remains engrained in our company legacy. The dedication, love and vision that Norm poured into this distillery lives on in every bottle we produce – love ya Norm.
