At Norman Yates Distillery, progress isn’t seasonal, it’s relentless. July has brought not just structural growth, but a fresh chapter in what’s becoming a standout destination for spirits lovers across NSW.
Meet Glen: Our Man with a Vision
We’ve brought in Glen, a seasoned fit-out specialist, to refine and elevate the distillery ahead of its public opening. Working closely with Gavin’s original concepts, Glen is injecting polish into the space, enhancing existing fixtures with a fresh mindset.
This isn’t renovation, it’s a rebirth. And the results are already showing.
What’s Taking Shape Where Your Bar Will Be
This is the future hub of NYD: the bar, kitchen, amenities, and mezzanine housing offices and the boardroom. In recent weeks, much of the pipework and drainage groundwork has been completed. We’re laying the foundation, literally.
Final layout includes:
- Mezzanine-level offices and boardroom above
- An L-shaped bespoke timber bar with LED accent lighting
- A fully-equipped kitchen for events or tastings
- Accessible male and female restrooms
As Glen leads the interior transformation, existing fixtures are being upgraded as well; the bathrooms are now publicly accessible, a first in our ongoing renovations.
Infrastructure Upgrades Underway
In line with last month’s slab update, we’ve moved forward on driveway adjustments. The driveway top edge has been reinforced to support semi-trailers, making loading and unloading seamless for logistics moving forward.
Meanwhile, signage is being produced and will begin to go up in the coming weeks, an additional visual cue that NYD is entering an exciting new phase.
